Malaria is the reason why more than 450,000 children in Africa die every year. Most of them are under the age of 5. It starts with a tiny mosquito bite. It itches terribly, but in Nigeria, it does not stop there. Here, it is extremely dangerous. Right now, it is rainy season in Nigeria. That means more mosquitoes and a higher risk of malaria infection.

We are Land of Hope
Land of Hope is a nonprofit organization founded by the danish humanitarian worker, Anja Lovén. We are dedicated to saving ‘witch children’ in West Africa. Every year, over 10,000 children in Nigeria are accused of being witches because of superstition. The children are made scapegoats due to poverty and ignorance, and they are abandoned, tortured, and ultimately killed by superstitious adults. Land of Hope has rescued 95 children who now live with hope for the future at our children’s center in Nigeria.
