Abraham was only 4 years old when we rescued him alongside his sister, Evelyn. A local pastor had accused them of being witches, and they were beaten, rejected by their community, and locked in a dark room for weeks.
When Abraham first arrived at Land of Hope, he was just a little boy in his overalls. Despite everything he had been through, he greeted us with a smile that instantly melted our hearts.
Today, Abraham has grown into a wonderful young boy, and the years have passed incredibly fast. One thing, however, has never changed—his smile. It still lights up every room and brings joy to everyone around him.
Abraham’s story is a beautiful reminder of the resilience of children and the extraordinary things that can happen when a child is given love, safety, and the chance to simply be a child again ❤️
Children’s Art
We use art education as a therapeutic tool in our work with the children’s mental health and emotional well-being.
For many of the children, talking about their trauma is difficult. Art classes provide a safe space where they can express feelings and experiences that are hard to put into words. Some children paint scenes from their past, while others focus on their dreams and hopes for the future.
What they all have in common is their remarkable talent. Many of the children have won art and talent competitions across Nigeria.
