It is very important to us that you can trust our operations. Therefore, in our privacy policy, we describe our approach to personal data and how we comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Therefore, it is important that information is treated securely and properly when you, for example, have provided it in connection with a donation, registration for lectures or events, subscription to the newsletter, or in connection with purchasing merchandise from us.

Purpose of Collecting Personal Information

When we collect and process personal data, it is for:

  • Managing your donation (for this purpose, we process the following personal data: name, address, email, phone number, payment information)
  • Being able to contact you later and inform you about further collections (for this purpose, we process the following personal data: name, address, email, phone number, campaign history, contribution history, type of contribution, behavioral information)
  • Gaining your attention for our important work and acquiring more supporters (for this purpose, we process the following personal data: campaign history and behavioral information)

Storage and Processing of Personal Information

We take good care of your personal information when we collect it. The information is limited to trusted employees at Land of Hope, and we only process personal information about you that is relevant to the purpose for which we are processing it.

We store your payment information for 5 years from the payment date in accordance with the Danish accounting law (Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

We disclose personal information to Nets in connection with the creation of payment service agreements.

Your Rights

Under data protection regulations, you have several rights concerning our processing of your personal data.

Right to Information and Access
You have the right at any time to be informed about what personal data we have collected, stored, and processed about you. You also have the right to access the personal data and know for what purpose they have been collected. If the personal data about you are incorrect, you have the right to have them corrected.

Right to Corrections and Deletion
In special cases, you have the right to have information about you deleted before the time of our general deletion occurs. In several cases, you also have the right to have the processing of your personal data restricted. This may be the case if you believe that your personal data are not accurate. The restriction means that we may only store your personal data.

In certain cases, we are legally obligated to process personal data about you. This may be for use in documentation of transaction trails and similar according to the accounting law. We must, among other things, store accounting material for five years from the end of the financial year to which the accounting material relates. It can also be in connection with reports to SKAT, so you can get a deduction for your donation to Land of Hope. Therefore, there may be cases where we cannot accommodate your request, for example, to be deleted.

Right to Withdraw Consent
If our processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right at any time to withdraw your consent. You can do this by contacting us.

If you wish to complain about our processing of your personal data, you can contact us. You can also submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority in your country.
