This painting was created by David Peter, whom Land of Hope rescued 2 years ago.

David Peter was orphaned and living with his aunt and uncle when they accused him of being a witch. He was brutally attacked, tortured, and left alone to die. When we found him, he was hiding in a bush, covered in wounds and suffering from devastating injuries.

The road to recovery was long. David Peter had to undergo several surgeries before he could finally begin to heal and rebuild his life.

Today, David Peter lives at Land of Hope, where he is thriving in school and embracing every opportunity to learn. He has developed a passion for music and has learned to play the piano, bringing joy to those around him with his determination and enthusiasm.

This painting was created by a boy who refused to let his past define his future. It is a testament to courage, resilience, and the incredible strength of a child given the chance to dream again ❤️

Children’s Art

We use art education as a therapeutic tool in our work with the children’s mental health and emotional well-being.

For many of the children, talking about their trauma is difficult. Art classes provide a safe space where they can express feelings and experiences that are hard to put into words. Some children paint scenes from their past, while others focus on their dreams and hopes for the future.

What they all have in common is their remarkable talent. Many of the children have won art and talent competitions across Nigeria.
