Wear your support This painting is created by Deborah, who was rescued in 2017.
Deborah was found on the street by the police, begging for her life. She had been accused of being a witch by the community.
She was very scared, when the police brought her to Land of Hope. She had been abused and beaten while living on the street. Fear was written all over her beautiful and innocent face.
Today, Deborah is full of confidence and hopes for the future. Not only is she a brilliant student, but she has become a talented artist. We know many of you have already bought some of her paintings, which she told Anja makes her so proud:
“I feel so grateful for all these people, who don’t know me and yet they believe in me. I will not disappoint them. Now I can go confidently in the direction of my dreams”.
December 2025, Deborah left Land of Hope for the first time to start university to study public administration. All the children walked with her to send her of safely which is a true testimony of the unconditional support and unique bond our children have for each other.
Children’s art
Art plays an important role in the children’s development and healing process, as it enables them to express past traumas, while also giving room for creative expressions of ideas and dreams for the present and future.
As one of our children (Joy) once told Anja in art class: ”I feel free when I paint”.
When you purchase a painting created by the children at Land of Hope, you give them a voice in the world that once rejected them. Your support not only heals their wounds, but it also gives them a feeling of being worthy and loved.
All the money from the sale of the children’s art goes entirely to Land of Hope.
